Hawaii

In July 2015, we were fortunate to have a family reunion with Ben's side of the family in Honolulu, Hawaii. We decided to extend our trip by a few days, on either end of the reunion, so we could see another island and also go to the PCC and Pearl Harbor. The trip was fun and both Maui and Oahu were new for Ezra and Jamee. Ben was a great tour guide and had fun showing us some of the sites. Ben also experienced some new things, too.

Ezra's first beach experience...
...was love at first sight.

The Road to Hana

We had two stops along the way. The stops were fun-- maybe the only fun part of this (okay, the views were nice, too)! The winding, narrow Road to Hana was not fun, nor was cleaning up after a car-sick child (in the rain and being eaten alive by mosquitoes)... An unforgettable adventure indeed.

Time to meet up with the family--

It's safe to say that Ezra loved the beach. During our last time on the beach, we opted to enjoy the sands of the beach instead of the water. As you will see in the pictures below, the sand was just as fun for Ezra as the ocean. We loved having time in Hawaii as a family. We hadn't been back to the Hawaiian Islands since our honeymoon. It certainly was a fun and new adventure with our little E.

Going Home

Quick ER stop before airport check-in
July 27th

Our last day in Hawaii, we had planned to go to Pearl Harbor in the morning, before our late afternoon flight, but when Ezra had a hard time waking up, was extremely lethargic with a fever, and had continuing diarrhea with no appetite, we decided a stop at the ER was needed. Our poor baby had some kind of viral infection. Knowing we had a flight that we wanted to make, the hospital was great, working fast to give him an IV and meds to help him begin his recovery. Despite clearly not feeling well, he was a trooper that day-- surviving the ER trip and the long flight home.

Pictures of a happy and healthy Ezra J, are from our earlier flights to Hawaii and between islands.
